Curly hair style tips?

ok so, I have curly hair and I can't ever seem to style it the way I want anymore. Everytime I scrunch it, it doen't look good and is kind of frizzy. I use gel and mouse but it doesnt seem to help. I want my hair to have those pretty natural curls that arent frizzy! my hair used to curl really good a year or two ago...i don't know what happened. my hair is medium length and medium curly (not extremely curly but def. more than just wavy). I use a diffuser too but nothing seems to work! please help w/ any tips...a different diffuser? which products? other tips? etc! thanksss

Make sure that you aren't using too hot of water in the shower, because that causes frizz. Don't brush your hair. Use a lot of conditioner in the shower and detangle it with your fingers so the curls stay in their shape. Also, I recommend letting your hair air dry because hair driers make my hair even frizzier. A lot of hair gels really just don't work. The best gel I've ever found is Garnier Fructis Hard Curl Gel (the curls aren't crunchy or hard though, they are just more defined and less frizzy). Then use an aerosol hairspray, let your hair dry over time and try not to touch it too much. The more you touch it the frizzier it gets.

when your hair is dry, add a little conditioner to the parts that frizz up. or tie your hair back. thats what i do.

I have curly hair too. I use different hair products that make your hair less frizzy and make it look wet all the time it is quite a cute look. Or if yo want it to curl and look cute use a product called pumping curl. It works really well and stops the hair frizz you get and curls your hair nicely.

paul mitchell super skinny serum helps control frizz and gives shine !! also to help the waves be more defined and less frizzy try pulling your hair into a braid

hope this helps

Curly hair style tips?

Don't brush/comb it and sort of scrunch good gel or another product in it (I use some Matrix products, a gel and wax) and let it hang out for a bit and dry and maybe pull it into a loose ponytail type thing, but sort of messy. Something new I just started today so I'll share my ideas. :)

Find a really good shampoo and then get a product that makes frizz go away and see how it works out for you .. shop around and see what products work for your hair.

well what i would use is this type of hair product like a brand like(frutise. any brand) and they have a type of gel that you put on AFTER your hair is dry and when you put it on it has a fabulous smell and it also makes your hair look wet and not frizzy at all! its amazing and a very good look for people who have curly hair!

hope i helped and good look!lol

Curly hair style tips?

Hey. I have curly hair too and believe me it gets totally frizzy/poofy. Something that worked for me was to not brush my hair outside of the shower. When your taking a shower brush it with mucho conditioner. Also you can look for little round green bottles of Garnier or any other "after shower conditioner". This will keep your curls intact but will let them move around, unlike mouse or gel which harden curls.

BEST ANSWER:WHEN I MAKE MY HAIR CURLY %26amp; IT COMES OUT NICE %26amp; I HAVE ABOUT YOUR TYPE OF HAIR SO---%26gt; 1ST YOU HAVE TO BUT A FRIZZ CONTROL SHAMPOO %26amp; CONDITIONER.. MAKE SURE YOU WASH YOUR HAIR REALLY GOOD.. WHEN YOUR DONE BRUSH AND COMB YOUR HAIR TO WHERE THERE ARE NO KNOTS AT ALL.. PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN TOWARD THE FLOOR %26amp; APPLY GEL 1ST (( L.A LOOKS GEL ~WET LOOK~ WORKS BEST ))... APPLY ABOUT 3 HANFULLS OF GEL ONTO YOUR HAIR BUT ALL-OVER DONT JUSZ DO IT SLOPPY... WHILE YOU ARE CURLING IT, MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING YOUR FINGERS THROUGH IT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM TO SEPARATE THE CURLS AND THEN JUST SCRUNCH IT UP REPEATEDLY... BUT WHILE ITS STILL WET APPLY SOME HAIRSPRAY ALL OVER YOUR HAIR %26amp; KEEP SCRUNCHING IT UP FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO GIVE IT SOME SHAPE %26amp; A NICE BOOST TO IT..(( FLAT CURLS ARE NOT CUTE))... AND THEN YOUR DONE...

--%26gt; REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR HAIR, THE HAIR DOES NOT CONTROL YOU... THATS WHEN YOU MESS UP SoO KEEP THAT IN MIND%26lt;--

Curly Hair!! Help?

I am not black but my hair is soooooo curly and frizzy! i found out that is i put huge blobs of conditioner on it each day and leave it there it looks great but i use at least 1 or 2 bottles every week!!! my mom wont buy me that much so is there anything that will work just as well but i wont need to use so much of it???? it wont even straiten it is soooo curly! ugh if you have curly hair please write and tell me what you do!!!! p.s if you have curly hair like mine i suggest doing the conditioner thing and not washing it out!

Curly Hair!! Help?

Ok. My hair is sooo curly and and so unimaginably frizzy it would shock you. But, it only gets this way when i put nothing in it. Listen, what you need to do is use that Garnier Fructis products. It's very economical. Use the shampoo, conditioner, and gel. If you want you can also get the hairspray. Also use that Sauve mousse for your hair(it should be in a green can). For the gel get the bottle that says Super Stiff.(intense structure and hold) Inside a bluish purplish bold it should say Ultra Strong. Don't worry it won't make you hair feel like a freakin' rock. People will start to envy your hair TRUST ME !! After you put on the gel (make sure you got it EVERYWHERE or else it won't look good), put some

of that Sauve mousse on. This will help a lot.You can flip your hair back and forth about two times. Then put hairspray on it, make sure you get the inside of your hair too. But remember the hairspray is optional. Your hair will look beautiful. Good luck to you.

Curly Hair!! Help?

i would go to a professinal stylist and get it chemically straightened. thats what i do. good luck

Curly Hair!! Help?

I have curly hair too! I gave up on trying to straighten it years ago. I started using the product S Lustre No Drip activator, moisturizer. It is found with the black hair care products. It is in a blue and white spray bottle. Go easy though, too much is greasy.

Curly Hair!! Help?

i have somewhat out of control hair and what i do is, after i shower i wrap my hair in a towel and leave it like that as i get dressed (about 5 minutes.) Then when i take the towel off my hair is curly but not crazy and out of control. Then i put in some leave in conditioner. The good part is you only have to use a quarter-sized blob of the stuff :)

Curly Hair!! Help?

the best thing that worked for my hair was rave Muse and rave hair spray, after you get out the shower towel try your hair, then add lots of muse and then flip your hair up side down, another word bend over so you hair can hang down and spay it with lots of hair spray.....trust me it woks really good and it's cheep 2 dollars a bottle.

I wish I would have known sooner because i have always hated my hair now I always get complements and I have Learn to love my hair, because you just don't know how many ppl wish they had curly hair. They pay tons of money to get it done curly. I think that we are lucky. that's what ppl call natural beauty.

Curly Hair!! Help?

I would just straighten it.

Curly Hair!! Help?

Ojon products work for me, try the restorative hair treatment as a deep conditioner, it's expensive but you don't have to use as much (they sell it at sephora). Also as far as straightening goes, rollers do the least amount of damage, lasts longer and looks much better, unfortunately it also takes the longest to do, but I think the end result is well worth the time. When you get hair products, try to go for products that are specifically for curly hair, and check to see if the product contains alcohol, if it does, avoid it, alcohol dries all kinds of hair and since curly hair tends to be on the dry side anyway, it'll just make it worse.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

I have extremely curly hair and i hate leaving it down because the air or whatever takes away from the length. i comb my hair and after i couple of minutes my hair is shorter than before. i hate it!!!!!! how can i keep my hair length after i comb it. why does it become shorter. i really want my hair to grow long...

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

it becomes shorter because it slowlyrolls itself up whilst it dries.as 4 wondering if curly hair is attractive?? yes it is!!!

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

I have long curly hair as well, from what my stylist told me the longer you hair is the more weighed down it is [less volune aka the way u hate how it "bounces up"] so I would start growing your hair as much as you can, but also use curl enhancing products, such as Fekkai Luscious curls, and go to a good stylist!!

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

tie it? it becomes shorter when you comb it because have you ever noticed the hair that comes out?

you just have to wait. straightening is bad, no offense.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

my best friend has super curly natural hair. the guys love her. dont worry about it. im sure your attractive (looks and personality). good luck

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Here on some tips.. (I have curly hair too)

1- monthy trimming. Take of barely a snip, you loose some split ends, and dry ends.

2- Straighten it. You can use a straightener, or when your done in the shower you blow dry it straight.

3- at night, or when its wet, put it in a really tight bun. This wont let the curls go so massive.

4- work with the hair. Put it in braids(which can make it curly) but it looks good. Pig tails, head bands, bandana's and hats.

5- Use hair gel, or hair spray. Take out the frizz with special hair conditioners(head and shoulders works!) and sprays.

6- If you dye it, or highlight it alot, stop. This can strip your hair dry. Also if you use more than 2 conditioners and/or shampoos stop. This will strip your hair or natural oils.

Hope these helped!!

Curly can be very sexy.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

They say the 1st attraction to a person is appearance based , and i say hair , wether straight , curly long or short in no way detracts from what the appearance of the girl might be , unless she looks like shes been dragged backwards through a thick hedge !!!

after that it's the personality and sensibilities of the girl that is really the holy grail .... looks mean absolutely fekk all ( sorry about the simulated bad language) . I can understand that you question tghe appearance of your hair , given that everyone these days are fashion mad ! , look to your inner self and ask .... would a guy like me for what I really am ?

I dont know you , or what you look like , but you are truly BEAUTIFUL beneath the skin , especially in your heart :)

very best of luck .... now go out there with confidence and knock 'em off their feet .

I have naturally curly hair. Still put a perm, then relaxer, but when will my hair be NATURALLY curl

8 days ago I had a Perm and the same day hair colour and strains put in on my 'naturally' curly shoulder-length hair. The result was I looked like a sheep! 3 days ago I had that Perm taken out with a perm relaxer (the hairdresser only left it on for 2 minutes and did not put it close to the scalp) and on top of that a new coulour (wash-out colour) was added. I waited 48 hours and then washed it for the 1st time and afterwards used Redkens 'extreme Rescue Force for distressed hair conditioner'. But now I am devestated!!!! My hair is so straight and I only get to put some body and curls in it by blow-drying with the difuser (as I usually do) + adding lots of mousse and finger work.

My questions are:

a) When will my actual naturally curly hair be back?

b) The body and the small amount of curls I manage to be able to put back after washing and blow-drying and mousse, are those actually my 'naturally' curly hair or still left-over Perm?

Thanks ahead for your answers...

fee24

I have naturally curly hair. Still put a perm, then relaxer, but when will my hair be NATURALLY curly again??

A. After the over-processed permed and straightened hair grows out and it cut off. There is no other way. Your hair is permanently damaged. Your natural curl will have to grow back from your scalp.

B. Those are not your 'naturally' curly hair.

You need to use products for damaged, over-processed hair to make the best of what you have because the damaged cannot be reversed at this point.

Check out www.redken.com. They have wonderful products and the website is very helpful. You will find there what you need to manage your hair in it's current damaged state.

I have naturally curly hair. Still put a perm, then relaxer, but when will my hair be NATURALLY curly again??

The hair you have today will never be naturally curly again. You will have to let your hair grow out and trim off the damaged hair a little at a time. This will take a long time, depending on how long it takes your hair to grow.

I have naturally curly hair. Still put a perm, then relaxer, but when will my hair be NATURALLY curly again??

Why in the world did you perm and colored the same day? You should of waited and your cosmetologist should of recommend treatments before doing a relaxer. Your curly hair will come back, but only after growing from your root. Never 2 chemicals in the same day. Right now all I can tell you is good shampoo and I recommend a redkin spray leave in condition.

Curly Hair From Hell?

Ok...i have major hair issues. Can anyone help me? My hair is like my avatars hair...except for one problem...FRIZZ!!! FRIZZ AND POOF!!!! -_- yes i put spray in it and stuff..and sure that works but then my hair is all hard and crunchy...o_O?

Also...does anyone know any cool curly hair styles? Im so sick of ponytails, and leaving it down...is there any fun style? or cool style for curly hair?

Curly Hair From Hell?

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel, a leave in cream, and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium laureth sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Make sure gel is evenly distributed everywhere in your hair. If you use too much you can always scrunch out the crunchy texture later.

- Use paper towels or an old t-shirt to gently scrunch some of the water out (generic towels can make hair frizz). You can either let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Dry until your hair is almost dry, and then let air dry the last bit. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores) or Activate Hydrating Conditioner (drugstore). The combo of products that I use daily is L'Oreal Out of Bed Weightless Texturizer (comes in a black-colored tub) and then Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel or Body Envy but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites. The products I recommended are my personal favorites and contain no silicones.

- "Strictly Curls" is a book about curly updos and such. Curly hair looks good long with LONG layers. I advise against thinning because it will make your ends ratty. I like to sweep hair back with 2 crisscrossed bobby pins after parting my hair to the side. I also like to wear my hair half up and leave out individual curls to frame my face.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This may take a couple weeks to begin working. Before you decide to quit shampoo, do a final cleanse with shampoo and stop the use of any products with silicones in them. Hope this helps!

Curly Hair From Hell?

I personally have the same problem. I use frizz ease curl defining spray. it doesn't leave it hard or crunchy. what also worked for me was mouse. I use a big clip in my hair most days I am working. pull it back like a pony tail but twirl it around and clip it up with the hair poofing out the top. My husband loves it lol.

Curly Hair From Hell?

Try a difuser - they work wonders. Also, if you have an Ion hair dryer, that cuts down on the frizziness too.

If you hair is poofing - get a hair cut. Your layers are out of wack which is causing the poof. Get your hair cut every 6-8 weeks and that will cut that down.

I would reccomend a curly shampoo, and then a leave in conditioner and product. Aveda make a good one, the name escapes me, but that cuts down on the frizz and the crunchiness.

Curly Hair From Hell?

Probably a wig would help, especially on those days when you can't be bothered.

Curly Hair From Hell?

I have the same kind of hair! I had it in a ponytail for YEARS because i couldnt stand the frizz and i hate that crunch curly look. I went to a curly hair salon (devachan) in new york and now i can wear it down every day... i love it!!! their products are really amazing but also a little expensive but worth it....

1. dont wash it every day, but definitely condition it every day

2. take some conditioner of their 'one condition' conditioner (or i guess you could try any conditioner thats not too thick) and put it in your hair after you've showered... and dont be afraid to use too much, especially at the ends and scrunch it up a little

3. use a blow drier with a diffuser or let it dry naturally

4. it WILL be hard when its dry but then, shake it out and scrunch it with your hands untill all that crunchiness is gone and voila! it will look beautiful and as frizz free as curly hair can be

good luck!!

Long curly hair?

For girls who have long curly hair:

What shampoo/conditioner do you use?

How do you style it?

Do you use gel, mousse, hairspray, etc.? If so, what kind of product do you use?

I have long curly hair but it is a loose curl. I use Herbal Essence shampoo for curly hair and I like it, but this humidity during the summer months makes my hair kind of frizzy and puffy, even after using a lot of gel. Any suggestions or tips on how you keep your hair healthy-looking?

Long curly hair?

I have the same hair type. I use granier fructis for dry frizzy hair. I also use a deep conditioner made by dumb blonde (not just for blondes) once a week. I use gel only, no mousse, no spray gel, just regular gel. Mousse seems to have to much alcohol in it and it really dries out my hair. Blow dry hair with a diffuser. Finish with a sculptor/wax (bed head is good) to put any stray hairs in place.

Long curly hair?

idk but my best friend has long curly hair and she used Pantene but she use the kind for curly hair. and i dont what kind of gel or moose she uses tho sorry.

Long curly hair?

i use garnier-fructise conditioner and the leave in conditioner...i have very long thick black hair and it helps me with the frizziness.

Long curly hair?

I use SunSilk de frizz, in the green bottles, the shampoo, conditioner, and the 24/7 leave in, works wonderful, leave hair, shining, silky and best of all, not frizzy. Someitmes I use a mouse by Herbal Essence for curly hair, but usually just the Sunsilk. I have long loose curls, about mid back.

If it's real hot, I wear a high pony and let the curls fall, otherwise, it's usually down.

Long curly hair?

Theres a wild variety to choose from like vo5 or pantene or hebal essence or somethin from bath and body works. There shampoo and conditioners works REALLY well. And also sunsilk products work very well.

Long curly hair?

i have very curly hair, and i feel your pain, specially during the summer, curls can be a pain. i use john friedas frizz-ease. i use the shampoo conditioner and serum. the eniter frizz-ease line is made for hair lik ours. it works great for me. hope this helps tame those curls. good luck!

Long curly hair?

i use suave just for the heck of it.. it doesn't do any thing but i use Aussie hair gel, but there is also spray, moose, and shampoo also! it smells good too.. it is in a purple bottle. and it has a kangaroo on it.

Long curly hair?

try putting mouse or gel in ur wet hair and then tying it up in a bun overnight, thn the next morning ur hair shld b curly and stay tht way for the rest of the day without frizzing.

Long curly hair?

I have the same kind of hair that you have...I use garnier fructis curl spray but i use my hands instead of the spray. After I apply the spray gel I shake my hair out then use hairspray of the same brand. This works for me!

Curly hair issues!!!?

I just read that avocado makes the hair shiny and silky..

well I have curly hair and it gets frizzy and dry sometimes...

Anyone with ethnic, mixed kid hair, or african american hair ever try avocado on their hair? does it work well? I want my hair to be curly but without the dry frizz that comes after drying it- and i've tried a lot of products and it doesn't really work.

please give me some advice, or let me know what remedies work for you!

thanks.

Curly hair issues!!!?

i use the samy hair products. i have tried sooo many products and put baby oil but nothing seemed to work until i used the creme.

mabe it will work for you

good luck!

Curly hair issues!!!?

i use avocado and it seems to have a soothing sensation. If you heat it first in the microwave it feels even better. i don't know about curly hair, but it sure feels good when i mazter-bate

Curly hair issues!!!?

Have you ever tried Veg. Oil? It works really well to smooth out hair. I have thick curly hair and my hair dresser always told me to use Veg Oil to tone it down a little, because it is thick. I have never heard of avocado for hair before. I wonder if it really works.

Curly hair issues!!!?

First wash your hair with conditioner and shampoo both same amount.Next don't dry your hair instead brush your hair and then straiten it with a straiting iron for your hair.Eat heathy foods too no junk foods.Do this every day and your hair would be strait and silky.GOOD LUCK!!

Curly hair issues!!!?

i know excatly what your talking about my hair is always dry avacado does the trick for me and so does lotions that have lots of moisturizer try moisture max or soft%26amp;beautiful botanical oil it really smooths out my mixed kid hair lol!

Curly hair issues!!!?

I have natural "cork screw " curls, and my hair also gets frizzy...The best thing I have found to use is ...Avon's "Advanced Techniques" Dry End Serum and/or Frizz Relief.....Also after I shampoo and condition my hair I use these products and a nice Frizz Relief Gel...I comb this through and let it dry naturally...I get shine and bounce and compliments...No one believes this is natural...They think I spent alot on a perm...The only set back is I have to wash my hair everyday, but I don't mind...Good luck!

Curly hair issues!!!?

As you can see I'm not African American but I think I can help you.

One of my friend is African American and she has similar problem like you, then I recommend to buy this type of shampoo that's only sold at any Asian hair salon supply shops either in Chinatowns, Korea towns, Little Tokyo or Little Saigon; that's because this product was made in some Asian countries. I forgot the brand name, anyway, if you're going to buy this shampoo product LOOK FOR THE WORDS ON THE LABEL SAID MOISTEURIZER, SILKY, ANTI-FRIZZY. It words for my friend. Hopefully, it will work for you.

Good luck!

Curly hair issues!!!?

i have done an avacado mix and works wonders on my hair so i'd definetly recommend giving it a try... what can it hurt? =)

Curly red hair... help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

i dye my hair red probably 2 years ago it used to be intense fire red, it was like a winish color, my hair is naturaly curly, i have tons of it, is very tick as well and is dry at the endes, i want to make it blonde, i know a bit about hair cause i used to work at a hair salon, but i want the advice from a profesional that know a lot about curly hair and how to treat it, lots of the hair technichians that i have been to only know about straight thin hair, i would love to make it look like a natural blonde, by the way i'm spanish, light skin for reference on my pigmentation, thank you, if any question please ask and i'll add any further coments answering your questions thanks!!!

Curly red hair... help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

The first thing you need to do is get a hair cut, to get rid of your split ends. Nothing repair split ends so you have to cut them off, then ask your stylist about "thinning your hair" with thinning scissors, this will help with the thickness of your hair. After that, let your hair get dirty for a few days, without washes it. This will help the blonde color you want to color it take easier and evenly because of the natural oils in your hair. After coloring it blonde, it may not be completely even, don't accept it, a month later color it again, your second time coloring it should be as even as it's gonna get. It's a process but before you know it, you'll be happy with the progress.

Curly red hair... help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Go to a Colour specialist.

Curly red hair... help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

call local salons and ask to talk to a color technician see what the cost would be as well

Curly red hair... help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

without seeing your hair it is hard to tell how blond you can go since i need to see your natural colour and the grow out. even though it has been two years, reds are very stubborn and hard to get out.

having said that, i can address the state of your hair. you need to cut the dry ends before you can colour it. bleach will only create more damage.

my best advice for you is to highlight it. have them colour your hair to a soft medium brown to ensure it is all even and give you lots of blonde hightlights about 40% blondes in your hair. look at pics of j.lo from a few years back. start out that way and then as you highlight more, you can get blonder and see if you can go completely blonde.

if you do go completely blonde, it is easy to go back to your natural colour but you will have to wait 6 weeks to do so.

with such a drastic hair change, you have to go to good salon as it will need to have colour toner to balance it and it is not that easy.

my advise is get a great cut and then highlights as a start.

Curly hair and Dreads?? Straight dreads?

So I'm thinking about doing my hair in dreads. I straighten my hair because I absolutely can't stand it naturally curly. After having synthetic ones a few times and doing evrything else under the sun, Id like ot just dread it. But before I started the process it occured to me I have very curly hair naturally? Would my dreads still come out straight? Who has dreads with curly hair? Is it frizzy? Does it look like garbage? Just give me any tips or info, i'd appreciate it thanks!

Curly hair and Dreads?? Straight dreads?

I'd say go for it :) dreads are beautiful no matter how curly or straight your hair is to begin with. yes curly hair has a tendency to make slightly more curly dreads but they are some of the most gorgeous dreads that i have ever seen. I myself do not have curly hair, though i do have dreads. My boyfriend though has very curly/wavy hair and his dreads are fabulous and only really curly/loopy at the tips.

Good luck on your journey!

P.S. to help dreads be more straight palm rolling helps alot :)

Curly hair and Dreads?? Straight dreads?

i'm sorry but i absoulutly hate dreads because they seem to make peole look like they don't really give a hoot about there hair and it's been said that when u get dreads u have to keep them in forever or cut them off and you don't wanna do that and with the right gel curly can be cute. i would know!

Curly hair and Dreads?? Straight dreads?

Well how about no dreads. They are so grungy and gross looking. But if you do curly. ahah

Curly hair and Dreads?? Straight dreads?

Are you wanting locs, or dreads? There is a big difference.

Help With Curly Hair!!!?

My 1 year old daughter is mixed, her dad is black, I'm white. Her hair feels just like mine, and looks pretty much like mine, except it's very curly. And I have the hardest time trying to comb it out. Her curls get so matted and knotted up in the back, it's a mess. So someone said just wash her hair and dont brush it out since it's curly, well I try that and it just looks like a bird's nest and the big knotted mess in the back just gets more knotted together. So I found a baby shampoo with seperate conditioner that actually makes her hair feel silky and doesnt hurt her when I comb it. But any other suggestions what I should do. And someone people say not to wash curly hair everyday, but when I dont, it's a bigger mess. So I need help. Is it bad to wash her curly baby hair everyday or what? Any other suggestions, let me know.

I can sympathize with you - my hair matted as a child and that was before conditioners and cream rinses. I went through a lot of hair tugging as a kid, until my mother finally got so tired of trying to comb my hair she took me to a barber and had it cut off as a Buster Brown cut.

But there is a site www.naturallycurly.com and they can give you some good advise. They are located in Austin, Texas, but they can direct you to someone near you, perhaps, but they also can suggest what you should use for a baby to keep from hurting her head. Good luck!

P.S. the person that told you to wash and not brush her hair is on the right track - but I think that would work better with an older child or adult. That is what I do when I want to wear curls and if I don't I brush my hair. Then it is straighter.

Help With Curly Hair!!!?

well when I was little, i had really curly hair and the best way was to comb it right after so if you comb well enough, it could be straightened out a bit. Keep washing the hair everyday. I mean what harm could it do? If you dont wash it, think about if you had your hair unwashed for a couple of days.

Help With Curly Hair!!!?

Get a little bit of detangler and spray it on before you comb through. If it's long enough, you could also try braiding it at night to keep it straight while she's sleeping. That may prevent you from having to wash it everyday, too. And, if you're giving her a bath at night, then she's sleeping on her hair, it may be tangling while she's sleeping because it's not all the way dry when she goes to bed. That always creates a mess. When she gets older I strongly recommend curl defining mousse of some sort, and I wish you the best of luck.

Help With Curly Hair!!!?

I have had curly hair ALL my Life , use a Comb when it's wet. Puting a Brush on Curly hair is nothing but Disgusted !!! Try Sunsilk products on her hair .. works great on Curls !!!

Help With Curly Hair!!!?

Never brush curls out, Ever! Wash hair with a conditioning shampoo, rinse then follow with a heavy conditioner and comb through working your way up from bottom with a wide tooth comb. Leave on for 3 - 5 minutes, rinse. Squeeze hair gently in towel to dry and never rub. Spray hair with a leave in conditioner before styling. If hair is thick use a creme leave in conditioner like Garnier Curl %26amp; Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream comb, then style with Garnier Fructis Style Soft Curl Cream twisting selected strands around finger to form more defined curl. With curly hair you just need to condition as much as possible. If you must use gel or hairspray make sure its alcohol free. Air drying is better for curly hair than blow drying but if you have to use one with a diffuser. Oh and when they say not to wash it everyday they mean not to shampoo it every day but use a conditioner to wash out hair. If you use gel or hairspray or anything sticky and flaky I advise to shampoo.

For quick next day touch up just spritz some water on it and untangle with comb and re-twist selected strands.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

Ok heres the deal:

I have naturally curly hair, which I have been straightening daily for a very long time now. So my hair is very damaged. I like my hair better straight, but I would LOVE to be able to keep it curly, I just can't find a style that is easy to do and not time consuming. My hair is a bit past shoulder length when left curly and it always poofs up wich I don't like. The top layer is always weird waves and underneath its really curly (Which I dont mind) I need idea's of what to do with my hair so I don't continue to damage it as much! HELP?!

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

I have naturally curly hair and I have found that if I do not blow it dry, the curls lay much nicer. I too prefer my hair straight and use a flat iron on it often, but I use a very moisturizing shampoo and conditioner AND I do treatments on it weekly to keep it from drying out. I also use leave-in conditioners and anytime I use the flat iron I use BioSilk's Silk Therapy to protect it. Now when I wear it curly, I do my usual shampoo, apply a leave-in, apply some silk therapy and some Frederic Fekkai Gloss, I let it air dry and scrunch it a lot with my hands or a wash cloth (for some reason that really makes the curls come out).......I think that by not blow drying it makes the curls stay together better that way it does not frizz. Good luck!

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

Try no shampoo or brush (not unhygienic).Massage scalp w/ conditioner and rinse. Then spread conditioner outside of hair and nape of neck.Gently comb tangles out w/ fingers from under hair and rinse.Or use wide toothed comb.Takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. http://www.ylcf.org/gotcurl/ Report It

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

panteene relaxed and natural shampoo and conditioner for women of color it works wonders and wash your hair every other day

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

First off stop straightening your hair everyday. That's the reason your hair is so damaged. You should get your hair permanently straightened at the hair salon. The straightness usually lasts up to 3 months. And with it straight you can do anything you want with it including making your hair wavy.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

since its just hair stop screwing with it

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

try a product called CATWALK :}

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

Have you talked to your hair stylist? There may be a relaxer or chemical straightener than can be used. You may want to cut off the damaged part, and start with fresh, healthy hair.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

Quit straightening it! That's what is causing the damage! put some gel or mouse in it and fluff it after its dry! Give it a break before you make it all fall out! LOL People pay lots of money for curl girl! trust me ! Been doing hair for yrs!

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

Get some STRONG hairspray and when you get out of the shower keep it wet and spray it down later when it air dries it will be pretty curls with no poofing and no hard stiffness, I think that the little bit of water dulls the hairspray so it doesnt feel crunchy but it still gives a strong hold on wild hair. Don't scrunh because if you do you will get jagged spikes and it won't look natural. I love Bedhead's hairpsray: Masterpiece

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

1. Get your ends trimmed

2. STOP STRAIGHTENING YOUR HAIR

3. No more heat products (blow dryer, curling iron, etc.)

4. Condition, condition, condition!!!

5. Find a mousse or anti-frizz product that offers some control without drying your hair out.

6. Buy a wide-toothed comb. NEVER use a brush. And always use leave-in conditioner when your hair is wet.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

use a shampoo for damged hair.. I trust pantene... dove, fructus garnier, head and sholders and a few others.. I say MAJOR no to pret.

don't straigthen your hair daily... because the heat if what's damaging your hair. maybe go to a hair dresses oen day and ask for osme tips, they're pro at least.

if they're willing to talk. they'll for sure ahve some great tricks.

if you don't mind, I htink you should save your hair before you think soley on a good way to tie it up.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

i use DOVE shampoo. it works wonders on my hair, and has an awsome scent. what i wood do is use DOVE, and keep stregten =ing your hair. then, when it is longer, you can let is go curly again, without it turning into a frizzball aroung your neck.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

First..you need to get a cut where the poofy layer is thinned out and the underlying curl is allowed to show. There are shampoos that really do work with our kind of hair that you can wash in straighter hair or let it go curly. I never use heat on my hair. I let it air dry and only use a wide-toothed comb or my fingers to style it. Never forget that women spend mega-bucks to get hair like ours, so revel in your natural beauty and keep your hair trimmed and clean!

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

stop straighten it

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

Use luke warm olive oil to oil your hair everytime before you wash them.

only wash your hair twice a week.

stop heating up your hair ( as by using straightner or dryer...etc)

avoid ny sort of chemicals on your hair.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

use thermal protection spray before u straighten ur hair so that it won't get damaged anymore, don't dye it or bleach it cos that's real bad! use shampoo and conditioner specifically for damaged hari and use those little treatment sachets from like V05 or summin...Also if you want to experiment a bit with your hair invest in a GHD ceramic straightener, they're totally amazing...i have naturally curly hair n 30 minutes of the ghd and my hair stays straight with slight curls where i want them for a whole week..so that gets rid of the daily straightening which is really really unhealthy...but if you want your hair curly, just use some sort of serum in it (fructis sleek n shine weightless smoothing serum does the trick for me) and don't brush your hair once it's dried...natural curls look amazing..Good luck!

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

OK, if you want to straighten it at home you can buy a Sedu flat iron and it's supposed to be incredibly effective. You can see pics of how it works at www.folica.com

If you want to work with the curls, then you need a really good haircut and that means don't go to the cheap salon. You can get consults and observe who knows how to cut properly. Don't choose just anyone.

There are defrizzers and gels that should help you. Sometimes if you fight the curl too much, it frizzes. In the past I've used John Frieda's Frizz-Ease on my soaking wet hair. It helps! Then I use a heavy duty gel like Creative Genius and add that to the top. Then I air dry or use a diffuser. Don't blow it out, it will just increae the problem as you probably know by now.

Let us know how it turns out after trying what you think sounds good.

Naturally Curly MAJORLY DAMAGED Hair, NEEDS HELP!?

I am an absolute curly hair lover...(in fact, I don't date girls who don't have curly hair...lol...tad obsessive I know, but that's my thing)

Anyway, I know that www.naturallycurly.com is a great site for helping people who have naturally curly hair. So I give that to you as a suggestion :)

Big Poofy Curly Hair...what do I do about it??

My hair looks REALLY nice and long and curly when it's wet, but when it dries you can hardly see the curls anymore because all it is is this huge poof of hair. Not very flattering.

Are there any products/ways I could use to make it still curly, but WITHOUT the poofness?

Like these girls' hairs:

Try Garnier Fructise Mousse

Worked for me.

Big Poofy Curly Hair...what do I do about it??

ha dun even get me started

use gell

Big Poofy Curly Hair...what do I do about it??

I have the same problem too! What you need to do is go to sally's and buy this gel called silk elements thats for curly hair. Then you need to buy a wide tooth comb. When your hair is wet get the knot out with a pick, and then once the knots are gone use the wide tooth comb to make your curls come out. Then put the gel in your hair and then your ready to go.

My hair is curly at the bottom but straight at the top,I want to cut my hair to a very short length,

because when i go shorter i want it to be straight really short hair but since it goes curly at the bottom i fear i might get weird really short hair, will it look weird..of course this is a very hard question but my hair is somewhat similar to this one in the link

just the curly bit is similar .

http://katie-james.com/fashionmista/curl... almost exactly like this

basicly some partss of my hair joins together at the bottom and i get natural locks but only minor ones

I want to cut it to about this length

so i was thinking and in theory if i cut it to this length it might end up like this

http://fashiondevo.files.wordpress.com/2...

am i right?

My hair is curly at the bottom but straight at the top,I want to cut my hair to a very short length,but..?

ooo, I have hair thats like that too. I'd say ask your hair dresser to cut it a little, see if you like it, and then cut it a little more, untill its how you like it. I don't think it'll look like the second picture unless your curl it.

My hair is curly at the bottom but straight at the top,I want to cut my hair to a very short length,but..?

yeah it be really cute!!

My hair is curly at the bottom but straight at the top,I want to cut my hair to a very short length,but..?

You would just have to use a straightener and maybe some shine serum.

My hair is curly at the bottom but straight at the top,I want to cut my hair to a very short length,but..?

I think if you got it shorter it would be easier to manage, and it wouldn't really be that hard to straighten it, it being that short, all you would have to do it brush it and us hairspray.

My hair is curly at the bottom but straight at the top,I want to cut my hair to a very short length,but..?

it probably wouldn't be board straight but if it was curly you could just straiten it to look like the first pic.

Chi's are really good straightners.

Curly hair cut.?

Okay, i have brown curly hair.

Its really poofy and frizzy

but i can take care of the friz and a little bit of the poof.

my hair is about 3 in. below my sholderswhen its curly.

i have side bangs and always straighten them.

i want to keep my bangs the way they are.

i dont want anything to short.

i do straighten my hair sometimes.

but most of the time its up or curly.

I really want a change.

I understand if you cant think of anything.

it is kind of hard to work with my hair.

Curly hair cut.?

Whatever you do, keep the layers long, never do short layers on curly hair. It will only make your do' look like bozo the clown.

Curly hair cut.?

keep the curly hair its cute on girls

Curly hair cut.?

definitely keep length because when you cut curly and poofy hair, it only gets MORE curly and poofy. Also, to reduce the poofiness, i suggest getting layers. that will reduce the thickness as well. this may seem too extreme, but if you really dont like your curly hair, you can get it chemically straighten. it lasts for a couple of months. my friends got it and their hair was super straight! goood luck

Curly hair cut.?

Well,I would love to have curly long hair first of all,but it is work to keep it up.Money for different products and straighting irons ,not to mention the damage to your hair is enough for me to suggest to go short,if your daring, youd have body without having to use alot of gel ti spike it in back ,keep bangs long.Lift bout 3 inches at top of crown. You feel funky fresh. Can be fixed several ways.Daytime work, shopping, night out just four to start! have fun with it.!!Hair always grows back!

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

I can try to help you.

You can buy a curling iron. If you go to a drug store you can find some from $8-$20+. The size of your curls depends on the size of the barrel. I suggest you spray each section of hair with hair spray %26amp; allow it to dry before you began to curl. If it is wet it mostly likely wont curl right %26amp; just come out crappy. After you curl the whole head spray it again w/ hair spray but not to much.

Look into buying some kind of spray or gel that leaves you hair soft. I do not use very much hair spray myself so I do not know about all the brands.

If you have a mother, aunt, sister, or older female friend try asking them. I bet they can help you fast.

Also try looking on WWW.YOUTUBE.COM for videos about curling hair. Try searching %26amp; use the words "Curly hair" "How to curly hair" %26amp; stuff like that.

I hope Ive helped you somewhat! ;)

I also just want to add. If you have unhealthy hair you should not be blow drying you hair. You should keep it as natural as possible.

Also don't towel dry, I have read in a lot of magazines it isn't good. Instead when you get out of the shower try using a shirt to wrap your hair up with instead of a towel.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

Stick your head in a wind tunnel.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

Try scrunching with gel.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

just get a perm. then blow dry your hair and use gel to scrunch it while its still wet. i did the same thing.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

Well, you can buy hair rollers that don't need heat. It cost like 10-15 bucks at Target. You just roll pieces of your hair and leave it overnight, and the next day your hair will have some volume to it. Comb your hair with a pick and not a brush. If you want to invest in some hair product try Bed Head's Curl Rocks spray. Garnier products are too heavy. I wouldn't recommend it.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

Don't try a perm b/c that will ruin your hair!

You might want to get a curl ironer. In that case, you will get beautiful curls.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

use Aussie products. the hairspray thats called instant freeze and that type of gel too.

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

Here is a good way to get curly hair,

1) From rite-aid buy Matrix Curl.life defining system, conditioner and shampoo.

2) also buy a scrunching gel doen't matter what type.

3) online you can buy a curling towel, after you get out of the shower, don't comb your hair just put it strait in the towel, (it takes a special kind of wrapping to get your hair in it but instructions will explain)

STEPS:

1) Take a shower and use the Matrix Curl.life shampoo and conditioner.

2) Don't brush your hair just put it in the towel for 15-30 minutes.

3) take the towel out and put some of your scrunching gel in your hands, rub them together and then put your hands underneath your hair, pull your hand to the top of your head and close your hand into a fist. Do that all the way around your head.

4) after that DO NOT blow dry your hair just air-dry it. (best and better results)

5) now that your hair is dry you can leave it like it is or, pull it into a pony or side pony or pull your bangs up! Your choice!

Hope i helped

How to get a curly hair? plz help me?

Pantene pro-v came out with hair wax. OMG IT WORKS WONDERS! You need to get the pantene pro-v texturize style wax and pantene curl lock hairspray. spray in the wax, scrunch your hair then spray in the hairspray. Blow dry your hair on low and continue to scrunch until your hair is at your desired "curlyness." (You do no have to blow dry your hair, just a suggestion.)My hair is soooo thick and i had the hardest time getting my hair to stay curly, but when i found out about these products, my hair stays curly until i wash my hair again. its fabolous! And your hair will not be crunchy, it will look and feel soft and natural!

Curly hair help? and straightening help?

Use a smoothing creme or gel (I love Goldwell's Flat Marvel or ISO's Tamer gel) to blow hair mostly dry with hands then take small sections using a large paddle brush to dry starting at the back. Then use a ceramic flat iron to smooth out the rest of the way %26amp; control frizzy ends. This is the best way to straighten your hair %26amp; should last a couple of days. I usually dry mine before bed then iron it the next morning. Also try shampooing less I usually wash mine two times a week but get it wet %26amp; condition most days. I will rinse my hair very well because most products are water soluable %26amp; then condition it if it's not too oily or dirty. I like to use ISO's Daily shine Gel of Daily Foam om my curly days. Hope this is some help!

Curly hair help? and straightening help?

It sounds like you need some ABBA Straightening Style Spray. It works on my hair. Just straighten your hair and then spray that stuff on. It also helps if you shampoo and condition your hair with special shampoo when you want it to be straight it helps its dry sort of striaght. HOPE I HELPED! =]

Curly hair help? and straightening help?

I you choose to wear a curly style but want it tamed down but look really trendy then purchase a product called Curls Rock made by Catwalk. After shampooing and conditioning towel dry, work this product threw your hair evenly. Them take half inch sections and twist them around your find winding your sections, them release, your will end up with coiled curls. you can then gently dry with a diffuser, or just let it air dry. Trust me, just try it once, its very cool. I have very thick hair that falls just below my shoulders and it takes me about 15 minutes to do this. I get compliments on this style all the time.

For straighting, let your hair air dry if possible, then use a good quality straightening iron. Clip it into sections and just do a half in at a time. If you have patience you will end up with straight shiney hair that will last all day and night. Don't use a lot of product, it will just make your hair look dull...other that a small amount of leave in conditioner while it is still damp.

Curly hair help? and straightening help?

Sounds like you need a thermal styling spray. I recommend Aquage Thermal styling spray. This is sprayed onto each individual section of the hair right before you use your flat iron. What this does, is it sets your hair. It infuses the hair with minerals, protects the hair from heat, and sets your style in until your next shampoo (as long as you don't go in the rain!) Promise... I'm a stylist, and I will not use another product. My clients swear by this product. Check your salons, or do an online search. It is THE BEST!! Hope this helps!

Curly hair help? and straightening help?

Usually I wrap my hair after washing it, You can also use the following products in your hair to help keep it straight:

CHI thermal spray use when flat ironing your hair

CHI hair shine

Thermasilk products are great for curly-straight styles

Also you can use a light moisterizer in your hair to tame those frizzy ends

Also try frutiose glaze it is like putty and will keep your wild strands tamed

Be careful not to use hair products with DEA in it. DEA is used in AJAX and comet which is a cleaning agent.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

i have super curly hair about to my shoulders and i straighten it sometimes.I wanted to get my hair layered like choppy layers on top and then longer as it goes down but my only fear is i wear my hair curly when i really don't feel like straightening my hair. but i was wondering if it would look good when its curly or is there a certain wayy i can get my layers so it will look good.

i reall need to figure this out

im getting my hair done tommorrw

btw: im getting it done with a razer blade

thanks

:)

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

I also have very curly, thick hair, but with long layers.

When occasionally straighten it, I love my layers! T

hey also look good with my curly hair. Layers help my hair to not poof out so much when it is curly.

My hair used to be about shoulder-length too when I started getting my layers.

Because shoulder-length is short for curly hair (it tends to shrink up!), be careful with the length of the layers you get.

The longer the layers, the better. Short layers will give you the afro everyone is talking about. But definitely go for it! With the razor cut, it should look really cool. Good luck!

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

yeahh definitely! Go try it, but as long as you have long hair, it will look fab!

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

ooo ok well not to high cause will in curls...well yeah. i think it would look fine. tons of people that i no have curly layered hair

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

DONT DO IT! lol, it only works with long hair, but not shoulder length hair..trust me. I was stuck with an afro for a long time. Layers give your hair more body, and curly hair does not need body. I still have an angle in the front of my hair, and it looks so weird curly, because the curls come up short. I straighten out the front parts. Do not do it.

Edit- if you want, have them do small layers, only on the last inch of your hair, which the razor will probably do on its own anyway. Just be careful.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

Layers emphasize curly hair's volume as opposed to it look flat with a straight cut. Layers is definitely a good idea.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

%26lt;b%26gt;NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO%26lt;/b%26gt;

CURLY HAIR LOOK SOOOO BAD LAYERED. IM JUST TRYING TO HELP YOU HERE, HONEY. WHEN CURLY HAIR IS LAYERED IT GETS POOFY AND YOULL END UP WITH A GIANT AFRO.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

i think it depends on your hair..that is a tough one!! You dont want it to look like a fro or anything like that! I think you should find some pic in a hairstyling magazine first of something similar to what you want, or a pic of layered curly hair and see what it looks like! My advice would be to get some subtle layers in at first that way you could get an idea of what layers will do to your hair, and if you like it..go back and get the drastic layers!

good luck!

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

I think so , when I perm my hair I have it layer. It shapes it and gives it a little more style than just curls, but I wouldn't use a razor blade, it will make frizz, just do regular layers that a hairstylists does with scissor. I had someone use a razor once, horrible, just horrible. Do you remember what Edward Scissor hands looked like, thats what it will look like.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

not too much layers or your hair will get more poofy and sometimes using a razor with curly hair can sometimes make it fizzy

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

i think it would look fine only if you did straiten your hair every morning. other wise the style you want will not be as noticable or seen even with real curly hair. I suggest getting a short hair cut that doesn't have choppy layers but maybe 5 layers evened out. or maybe you should go to a good stylist and ask him his opinion when you get there. tell him what you whant, but ask him or her if it is good for your hair type. they have been cutting hair for a while and hopefully the person your goin to has experience so they hopfully will know if my advice doesn't help.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

no but it looks good on your mom

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

well my hair is really curly and i got the layers in my hair redone and got it cut the other day but i reckon it would look beautiful. i havent seen wat mine looks like yet coz i've been wearing it up and my hair has 2 be washed as well.

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

Since your hair is shoulder length if you want layers I recommend long layers. I have long curly hair %26amp; I love my layers %26amp; cannot imagine not having them.

One trick is to find someone who knows what they are doing!

If you start your layers @ your ears you should be fine. Also when you straighten your hair use a jumbo curling iron (I do) this allows you to either flip your bottoms upward or under (depends how you hold the curling iron). This works great %26amp; looks a lot better than just letting your hair hang starigt.

Be adventurous! Go get some layers!

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

go for it and try to mix up the way you wear it too. maybe the top curly and the bottom layers straight. thats what i do

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

NO don't do it!!!!

Does curly hair look good in layers !HELP!?

no ,it will not look nice .

Curly hair bangs?

i have curly hair but never wear it curly.

i straighten it every day. i'm looking to get bangs... but i know that summer's coming up and im a little worried about how it will look at the beach and stuff when my hair is wet and dries curly..

sooo.. anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of bangs i can/should get??

[i have hair to the middle of my back when straight, about 2-3 inches past shoulders when curly]

Curly hair bangs?

I think you should just go for it if it's what you want. I myself have curly hair that I straighten very often, and I have had side-swept bangs that just about cover my eye when straightened for the past year or so. Side-swept bangs work well with curly or straight hair. Also, if they truly bug you when they curl, keep a small hairclip handy to clip them back and do a little poof thing. It looks really cute when hair is straight and curly, so if you go in the water with the clip and let your hair dry with it still in, the style will remain the same. Not only that, but consequently, your bangs will dry straight, and if you want to wear them down, just unclip it.

When I was younger, I had bangs that reached my eyebrows and very curly hair, and they worked fine. I'm really into swimming, soccer, and tennis, and my bangs have never bothered me.

Bangs are fun, and if you get annoyed with them, a simple hair clip does wonders. =D Go for it, hon!

Hope I helped.

Curly hair bangs?

You'll have to go long for them to not look ridiculous when they curl up, but then if you go too long, they won't work straight. It's probably a bad idea. If you must go to a stylist tha specializes in curly hair. Mine, who does, has always refused to give me bangs, but I always wear mine curly. Lifes too short for all that drying and flat ironing.

Curly hair bangs?

maybe u shouldnt just get bans

bec either way your hair will curl up it mgiht not look

right

Curly hair bangs?

I think that you should get longer bangs, parted off to the side a little angled. It looks good curly or strait!

Curly hair bangs?

im not a big fan of bangs but it sounds as if u need to keep them long so you wont look like a poodle when ur hair dries in public

Curly hair bangs?

I have curly hair too, and I have started wearing it to school curly. I also have bangs, and when I just wear my hair down it looks fine. When I pull my hair back and my curly bangs hang down it looks really bad!!

Curly hair bangs?

It depends how curly your hair is. One way to be safe is to keep them longer like to the middle of the nose when wet. When they dry they shrink. So see a professional and get good advise. Summer humidity is also a negative when curly hair can get fuzzy. I would go with a long angled bang, swept to the side. That is good for curly or straight.

Curly hair crises?

I have medium length curly hair, my curls are really small in the front and huge/sometimes wavy in the back. I also have medium side bangs. what can I do to prevent my hair from frizzing up like a poof ball without using so much gel or moose? I blow dry by hair because it takes so long to dry but than it makes my hair really curly and frizzy. any suggestions? thanks ALOT!!!!!

p.s.

what can I do to volumize my hair in the back of my head because my scull has a dent in the back and it looks funny with my kind of hair. thanks again.

Curly hair crises?

wash hair at night, pull up LOOSELY before going to bed,(not with scrunchie but a clip or bobby pins, so it won't dent your hair) in the morning apply frizz ease serum extra strength, and frizz ease spray.. curl aound finger all over

Curly hair crises?

I don't really know but if you brush it don't that makes curly hair into a frizzy puff ball

Curly hair crises?

When using the blow-dryer, always use a low heat setting and a diffuser. This helps so much! Also, overwashing with shampoo is a big reason curly hair gets frizzy-- only try washing it once a week, and condition on the other days.

Stay away from hair products with silicones in them, they may make your hair look temporarily shinier, they seal the hair shaft, cause buildup and dry your hair from the inside. Stay away from John Frieda's Frizz Ease serum and stylers and Catwalk Tigi Curls Rock products. My favorite styling gels are Moptop Light Hold Gel, Herbal Essences Set Me Up and Curl Scrunching Gel, none of which have heavy silicones.

Curly hair gone bad?

ok, whenever i wear my hair curly, through out the day it gets frizzy and becomes more and more straight! my hair is naturally curly, but then gets straight all of a sudden!! i need a way to keep i curly! i tried all sorts of products and curling irons! please help because i have to go to a party soon with my hair curly! I NEED HELP! ps i have some time to go buy products if that is your solution!

Curly hair gone bad?

You're cute.

Curly hair gone bad?

Well i have naturally curly hair ... after you wash your hair comb it the way you normally do....... then apply bed head gel its the purple container ....... and scrunch it up...... i like to bend over and put my head all the way down and scrunch it up....... if you get what i'm saying:) It should dry very curly.

Curly hair gone bad?

When you have curly hair, you need to look after it properly to stop it getting dry and frizzy. If you have the patience then you can blow dry it straight everyday, and/or use straightening irons on it, but if you do this then you have to take special care to keep your hair well conditioned and protect it from the heat.

If you decide that this is too much hassle and you would like to try and simply adapt to the curls, then you need to find a hairdresser who will help you choose a style that is easy to maintain and doesn't involve a lot of styling, so that your hair is less likely to frizz due to heat. If you choose a layered style, then make sure they are not cut in with a razor as this encourages split ends. You will have to go back to the hairdresser regularly to get rid of dead ends though, or else your style will lose shape.

Some stylists say that if you have curly hair you shouldn't wash it everyday as the natural oils from your scalp are good for keeping frizz at bay. If however you do not like the feeling of leaving the house with unwashed hair, then either wash it everyday regardless, or on non washing days why not try just wetting it and adding some conditioner. If you do wash it everyday, then at least try not to use the hair dryer on it excessively as this dries it out. When conditioning the hair, make sure you use a good one as keeping your hair well moisturised will give your curls definition and not frizz.

Stop Frizzy Hair

Another way of keeping frizz at bay is to avoid combing your hair when dry - do it with your fingers while it is still wet to get rid of tangles, or use a wide toothed comb. Styling products can also leave residue, so try to use salon recommended ones with little buildup, or else your hair will be even harder to care for.

Curly hair gone bad?

I have naturally curly hair too and at one time I got it premenatly straightend %26amp; I really wanted the curls back. I use Aussie Mouse first while my hair is damp %26amp; try scrunching your hair. After that Spritz it with Aussie Extra hold hair spray Good luck !

Curly hair gone bad?

try using moose.first you put some moose in your hand then

scrunch your hair. then it should be very curly!!!!

hope i helped you!!!!

Curly hair gone bad?

Ok I have curly hair too and I used to have the same problem. There is this Sauve frizz control stuff and it really works good! That`ll help ur frizz. For ur curlz I say to let it air dry and scrunch it before you go to bed. I also brade my hair sometimes and it looks really good the next morning. Curly hair is hard but its worth it.

p.s if u really want to blow dry it, uset he curl thing on it. Without it ur hair will be strait. ALso drying it half way by blow drying to where its still damp and the other half air really works 2!

Curly hair gone bad?

My hair is naturally straight and when I do curl my hair is stays.....FOR DAYS!!!

1. Wash your hair

2. Blow dry your hair without any product in it. Also when blow drying do it wildy. Don't use a brush or anything just let get big and ugly

3. Apply firm hold mousse all throughout hair (especially back...since that is what gets flat the quickest)

4. It won't take long to dry so just chill

5. Depending on how thick you want the curls get a CERAMIC curling iron

6. Get a strand of hair spray at little hair spray on it...run the curling iron down the strand to dry the hairspray

7. CURL FROM TOP TO BOTTOM!!!!!!!!! Most people start from the bottom and curl up...Open the curling iron put the curling iron as far up the strand as I can get....wrap the strand around the curling iron and close ( the tighter the hair is on the curling iron the tighter the curls)

8. After doing a couple strands use the mousse again and scrunch up the curls....not too much but enough to get a little more hold

9. after all your hair is done mousse AGAIN AND SPRAY WITH HAIRSPRAY IF NEEDED

10. I have really thick long hair and i have mastered curling my hair and only takes me about an hour to do it.

Curly hair in the summer.?

okay, ive asked a question like this before, but didnt get many useful answers, so i thought id try again. i have naturally curly hair with side swept bangs, and in the heat and humidity it looks absolutely terrible. my bangs frizz and curl, and my curly hair gets frizzy, which almost never happens. does anybody know any hair products that work to hepl with humidity?

also, does anybody know how i can straighten my hair really well. ive done it a few times, but whenever i straghten it, it has to be in a ponytail because the roots curl a bit by the end of the day. does anybody know any products or tips that will keep my hair straight? if anybody has any certain directions on how to straighten hair thatd be great too.

Curly hair in the summer.?

Okay, I have naturally curly hair and I live in Florida so I know exactly what youre talking about. What I do is use gel and hairspray on my hair while its wet most likely when you get out the shower, and dry with a cold dryer, some hairdryer's have cold option if not use regular house fan, it keeps your curls in place and gives you the wet look. For straight hair I use Frizz-Ease, you can find that in Wal-Mart.

Curly hair in the summer.?

AUSSIE helps, you know with purple kangaroo, and umm get the spray on conditioner crap. and there ya go.

Curly hair in the summer.?

after u take a shower u should just mouse it then hair spray it and if its ion ur way u should put it n a messy bun....

Curly hair in the summer.?

Have you tried John Freida's Frizz Ease Hair Serum. He has a whole line of products that are to help with this. I Use the hair serum when I don't want my hair to frizz when I wear it curly. It even prevents frizz when i straighten it.

Curly hair in the summer.?

Catwalk has a product in a blue bottle called Curls Rock. It's a cream so the hair stays soft. Whatever you do don't brush your hair in between shampoos, just sort of separate the curls with your fingers or spray a little water to reactivate them until you wash it again. My advice is not to bother to make your hair straight, go with the curls, natural is always the easiest, and the best for your tresses. Good luck......

Curly hair in the summer.?

Okay for summer, when you wash your hair, rinse it through with cold water and scrunch it with a towel.

Then put some frizz ease serum (its like a clear gel looking thing) and then scrunch it with your towel and it should look good but just get every inch of your hair.

If you get paranoid put some hair spray on after the frizz ease.

For straight hair, use a tamer from l'oreal. The humidity frizzes it,,,it used to happen to me. just spray the tamer on dry hair, comb it and straighten it with a ceramic hair iron also what helps is a regular clothes iron.....i don't know what it is but it seems to get my hair straight and really soft.....

This should help cos my hair was like an afro and i'm so bony that it looked bad....and finally my hair looks great! =)

Curly hair in the summer.?

i have the same problem with my hair and i use a ceramic straightener and as far as hair care products i use Aussie moist shampoo and conditioner and after i wash my hair and get out of the shower i use this leave in conditioner called sun silk moisturizer. the also have a kind that is for

frizz. then i blow dry it and then i separate it in very small pieces and run the straightener through it. i hope that this works for you it has been the only thing that has worked for me.

Curly hair in the summer.?

Sunsilk makes great hair care lines for all different types of hair, a great tip for curly hair is when it is totally dry, use a bit of condionner and apply throughout your hair, it'll give it less frizz, more noticable curls, Garnier Fructis has a great selection to help you with your curly hair. As for straightening your hair, the pharmacy has a large range of straightening products, anything from shampoos to gel, blow-dry from the root working your way out to the ends with a circular brush, this may take some time, but can last for a few days.

Curly hair in the summer.?

actually yet, for the 1st question, I would try a shampoo that helped moitsurize hair, I use salon products like biotera and Paul Mitchel. I promise you salon products really work. Try using some of the products in you hair or when your done washing your hair blow dry it with a diffuser. A diffuser is really good for curly hair, you just attache it to your blow-dryer and it keeps frizzies away. I hope I helped. And for the 2nd wuestion about striaghtening you hair, try this link it'll help how to straighten your hair easy http://www.sallybeauty.com/consumer/WH/a...

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

I have VERY curly hair. I have already decided to get side swept bangs and straighten them with a straightening iron. But I thought about getting scene hair too. The kind which is poofy at top and very thin at the bottom. I have very poofy hair so if I get it layered up top I think I can pull off the scene look, with a spin. Do you thin this will work? Please give your honest opinion, and any photos you have will be very helpful, seeing as they are scarce for curly haired people. Also, don't suggest that I get my hair permanently straightened or straighten it every day, my mom will not let me do that or dye my hair. I love my curly hair, and I love the scene hair look. I'm in a hard spot and I appreciate your opinions.

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

i think it will work.. and if it doesnt hair grows back.. its a perk of having a bad hair cut. ubt i really think that curly scene hair would be so cute and awesome cause you see alot more people with scene hair but not curls too. i tried to find you some pics but there was not to much so heres one.

Scene hair for curly haired girl?

Curly Hair Advice??

I asked this earlier but I need hair advice??

Ok, I've asked 2 questions about curly haired celebrities. My answers led me to this chart:

http://www.curl2curl.com

Looking at the chart, I would peg myself at about a C3. Can you think of cute hairstyles you've seen on the C3's and sen me pictures?? Just to let you know, I don't have African American hair...just very curly hair.

I don't feel like getting another maintenance routine. I want your suggestions based on the looks of the C3s (I don't remember who they were). If you like, you may tell me what you like about each. Pix would be helpful; product suggestions are ok. I just don't feel like hearing about maintaning curly hair, as I already know this.

Remember: I am a C3.

Thanks everyone!! I'm Victoria. If you have questions about my question, ask.

Curly Hair Advice??

- I have the same hair type as you! My hair looks great long with long layers- helps to avoid the triangle shape after drying. Check out a book called "Strictly Curls" for updos and such for curly hair. I like to sweep hair back with 2 crisscrossed bobby pins after parting my hair to the side. I also like to wear my hair half up and leave out individual curls to frame my face. Overall just experiment- it's fun!

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum.

Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sulfates). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (read more about this at one of the websites) . Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Aussie Moist Conditioner. The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream, Tressemme Clean Hold Gel, and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

Curly Hair Advice??

Sorry! I thought it didn't work on the other one for some reason because your question sounded so similar. The site is part of a church site, but it's still about curly hair! I have saved an answer for care of curly hair on my computer because it pops up so often, Sorry again! Report It

Curly Hair - Bored?

Im bored with curly hair (and i straighten it sometimes)

Girls with curly hair (or something w/ background w/ curly hair)

What are some nice things i could do with my hair

I need some different ideas.

Pictures AND descriptions are appriciated :-)

Curly Hair - Bored?

Well, what I do with my hair:

-I blow-dry it, then straighten it

-Then, I either leave it down

-Or pull it back into a sleek ponytail

Good luck, hope I helped!

Curly Hair - Bored?

Try cutting it into a funky hairstyle. You can do things like pinning various sections up, for instance into a bun, or half up, half down. You could braid it into varying numbers of braids.

Curly Hair - Bored?

Straighten it .. there is a shampoo that really help u .

Curly Hair - Bored?

When I wear my hair curly sometimes I will use a clip and pin it up in like a french twist sort of way and arrange the curls cascading out. I also like to twist and pin different pieces up. Either way is pretty and playful. Nice for a change.

Curly Hair - Bored?

If you want your hair to still be curly, then you could always put it up in a cute ponytail, that always works, but if you want a completely new style, first straighten your hair, then you could get the corn rose, or you could put that up in a ponytail, wear it with a part in the middle, one side bigger then the other, or you can wear a ponytail with some hair hanging down, or a fancy up do or like up in a clip or the Jessica Simpson hairstyle, not the cut off one the one where it is long.

Good luck, hope I helped!

PS. You can't paste in pictures, I tried.

Curly Hair - Bored?

I straighten my hair and then use a curling iron to get BIG curls. It's better than your everyone else straight har and different from those little annoying curls. See my hair in this pic:

I always loved what Sarah Jessica Parker's hair looked like on Sex and the City. She had a hundred different styles and almost all of them looked easy and gorgeous!

Curly Hair - Bored?

Ok, enough with all these questions about your hair. For one, you're not pretty, for two, nobody cares.

Curly Hair - Bored?

I have super curly hair, i love it, dont get me wrong but it gets annoying. I poof it in the front sometimes.

i have straightened bangs so straighen those with a little poof.

side clip

half up half down

take like 1/3rd of the front of both sides of your hair and pull them back in a twist, hold that iwht a clip or a hair tie.

high curly gelled pony tail i do this with straightened bangs but either way it looks good.

just normal gelled.

the night befoore desired day. use moose V05 is good, put that all over your hair, then blow dry on a high warm setting, scrunch your hair while doing this, then use hair spray when its "damp" more to the dry end. it comes oout gorgous and they become like straight hair easy to manage curls.

aslo what you can try is use a mouse the night before, sleep on that and then curl the pieces that didnt come out as good.

okay this is my favorite, i gel my hair then i put it up in a bun for tighter curls after a minute pull out of the bun, let your hair down for a little. do a huge side part, let like 2 or three curls hang from both sides of your hair, then the rest put in a low pony, and from one shoulder have that ponytail hang. the side that has the pony should have les curls hanging the other side should have more.

hope this helps!!
