Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

I have naturally curly hair. I run in to some people who ask me if it's natural. then say "Gawd, I bet you're one of those people who just hate your hair, while others would kill to have it curly and who pay big bucks to get it that way". Ummm...no actually, i love my curly hair. Is curly hair in or out now?

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

i know what you are talking about people ask me that question to too often. . but i consider it a definite blessing!!! and curly hair is very in at the moment . . . enjoy your day and remember to just be you!!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

Totally in!

i wish my hair was curly!:[

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

IT WAS IN LAST YEAR BUT NOW... SAD 2 SAY, NO WAVY HAIR IS ALL THE RAGE. I'D STRAIGHTEN IT SLIGHTLY TO CHANGE IF U CARE ANYTHING ABOUT UR APPEARANCE.....

WHICH I DEFINETELY DO!!!! ;)

TRUST ME I'M BLONDE!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

Hahahaha. I'm one of the people who just hated my for the longest time but recently I've gotten it to look good straight and curled (w/ a curling iron)

Good things are that your hair will never look stringy like some people with straight hair.

You will always have volume.

Updo's always stay.

If you curl your hair with a curling iron or hot rollers your hair easily holds curl.

Unfortunately for me the natural curl just makes me look like a hot mess but I see the other perks now, so the other people can remain jealous.

Woohoo. Go us!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

its a blessing girl because you know that there are people out there that are paying big money to curl their hair! And all you have to do is go to the store a buy a cheap straightner if you want your hair straight!!! So think of it as a good thing!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

I wish I had curly hair! I get a perm every year, but it just isnt the same! You should be happy your hair is naturally curly!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

You're blessed, don't let people alter your self-confidence. The most sexy hair is the hair that is cherished and naturally enhanced. Now that I know how to make the most of my naturally wavy hair I've never been so pretty and succesful.

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

curly hair is always in :) i love mine too it is so versatile! it can be straight or curly and it holds styles so much better.

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

curly hair is in it is not out not yet that is what i think u have a blessin it is not a curse i am one of those people who has curly hair and for me i think it is a blessin to have curly hair.

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

Natural looking hair is in so your curls are in too!!! I have naturally curly hair and I use to blow dry it out strait for years. But, now that I am in college and I have no time to primp for hours I let my curls be free. I love how my hair feels healthier because of the lack of excessive blow drying and I get loads of complements of how beautiful my curls are!!!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

Definitely curly hair is great! It always looks much more bouncy and fun than the straight, stringy, blah look.

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

If YOU think it looks good then why does it matter if it's "in" or "out" ?

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

I agree. I think it's the opposite... like when you have curly hair and you envy straight hair. However, when you have straight hair (like me), I am constantly using products to make my hair wavy. Curly hair is in for 2007; it's the new look and you can see that more and more celebrities are making theirs that way. It is good that you love your curls because then you must have some amazing natural curls that we straight haired people will die to have!

Naturally curly hair.....a curse? or a blessing?

straight hair is in but you can bring "CURLY BACK"

Scene and curly hair help please?

u can cut it, but stop straightening it alot. you curls are going to be gone forever if u do. and it sucks bcuz then your hair looks terrible

Scene and curly hair help please?

i'm mixed too, but not with just black and white.

:)

if you use a relaxer, the only way you'd be able to make your hair curly again is by growing out the relaxer and chopping off the hair you did relax.

which would take a while.

i wouldn't do either, but that's just me.

trends come and go;

in the next couple of months, the "scene hair" trend could be over and you'll be left with damaged, relaxed hair and it will take a while to get the curls back.

relaxing you hair would cause it to become dryer, more damaged.

and if you wanted to color it in the future, it would probably break off badly because you'd have put two chemical processes on it.

but also, when you have a relaxer, if you want your curls back you'd have to use curlers, or if you had very tight curls, a straw set. that would consume lots of time, and your hair might not even hold the curl.

when your hair is natural and you straighten it, you can always just wash it and get the curls back, that's not the case with a relaxer.

think about it, if you really want "scene" hair that badly just so you can have an "in" hairstyle ; than do it.

Scene and curly hair help please?

Wouldn't do it.

Forget about the trend.

It will die just like every other one.

I know people who have extremely curly hair that straighten theirs ocastionally it looks horrible.

If your born with curl hair don't ruin it for a silly trend.

Scene hairs not that great.

I have it and it takes me forever to get it just right.

Plus most pictures you see of it on the internet are photoshopped or just done for the picture that was taken and will go flat within a hour. =)

Scene and curly hair help please?

Relaxing it, is a lot worse for your hair than straightening it. I curl my hair 2-3 time a week for a year or 2 so far and it's still the same ol curly self. I don't think either will ruin your curls but, it will burn your hair a little and give you split ends. I hope this helped, and thx for answering my question on old quebec

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

I want to get my hairstyle to something similar to japanese styles right now, spiky, bleached, etc., however, the problem is that my hair is VERY curly. Not wavy, curly. Right now i'm wearing it as a afro, but have gone and every other week got it done as braids.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips/solutions to changing hard-to-pick-out curly hair to the japanese styles of today.

Examples:

http://www.crownrecord.co.jp/artist/nigh...

Guy on the right, Higuchi- his hair is more or less what i'm talking about

http://diru.hydeist.de/wallpaper/dir-en-...

Dir en Grey, guy on the right

Oh, I am african-american and male, to just say.

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

:).

Okay, it seems to me you need to have your hair " relaxed ". See a hairdresser and he/she will explain costs, the benefits and what you have to do to keep your hair in great shape.

Having it " relaxed " will break down the curl and you will have somewhat straight hair.

You could just use a straightner every day but the results may not be what your looking for as if you hair is very tight and curly it will take a while and the effect will not stay the same for long.

I would say having your hair " relaxed " and styled/cut at the hairdresser is the better option :)

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

u should probable get it streightened, cut and bleached. ps japanese styles right now arnt that attractive trust me!!

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

You should straighten out your curls and take it from there!!!!!

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

Well you should probally go on the internet and got to jappaneese haircuts and look at witchever one you want print it out and take it to the shop and they will give you the hair style that you want!

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

get one of your black girl friends that knows how to relax hair to put a relaxer on it. itll straighten your hair out mostly, but youll need to "invest" in a good flat iron to get out the kinks every now and then. i only say to get a relaxer from a friend because its about 50 dollars at a beautician

Curly hair to japanese spiky hair?

Get a perm dude. Then have it professionally died and bleached or whatever. If you don't have it professionally done, your hair will fall out. I would know as I tried the same thing.

The only place I buy my hair products from is curls.com they have a whole range of products for just us curly hair gals. Their products are amazing.

DRY,CURLY HAIR.What do i do?Best moisturizer?

hey

I am not Ethiopian nor do I (well i assume i don't) have the same hair as yours but I do have extrem nature curls that seemed untameable. Even hair stylists didn't know what to do with it. When i leave it curly it is so dry and frizzy that i can't even get my fingers through, not even an inch , and when i straighten it , immediately it becomes sort of oily, greasy

I've tried dozens of products that were specially formulated for this kind of dry/ curly hair and it never really helped.

Then I tried the Pantene Pro V Hydrating Curls (Shampoo, Conditioner, even the styling products except for the gel (makes the hair too "crunchy" i felt) ... and i was happy with it.

Using those products, the curls were relaxed, leaves it feeling smooth and shiny, and even controls the frizz for a while

what i also do before i style my hair i started using ProVitamin intensives Instant Repair - its a Vitamin Hair Repair Serum that i found to work pretty good

and the other thing ... i don't know what u use / what brand of straightener to straighten your hair ... but when i started doing that i used several straighteners and 1st it took forever, and 2nd it didn't last long and 3rd when done, the hair wasn't as straight as i wanted it to be

then i saw a commercial like 2 or 3 years ago ... they showed a straightener first i was sceptical but i tried it anyways, so i ordered it ... and i can tell you i've never been disappointed once with it - takes me about 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs to straighten it, and it looks amazing ...

and as dumb as it sounds but i did a Grease Test (lol) meaning i didn't wash my hair to see how long it takes for my hair to feel greasy and for 4 / 5 days there was no greasy film ...

when i ordered the straightener it came with styling products that worked wonders i believe ... (the straightener is called MaxiGlide from Maxius and came with Beyond Straight (humidity resistant temporary straightener) and The End (for shine)

with the shampoo and styling series from pantene for curly hair, or with the straightener ... I finally have it under control ... whether its curls or straight

maybe u want to check out the straightener so i'll paste the link below ...

good luck

:-)

The best straightener for curly to straight hair is the Chi. It is a bit pricey, but it works really well and it doesn't damage your hair. I use Biosilk with mine and it protects your hair even further and also adds shine. You can purchase a Chi at most beauty supply stores and some salons. I bought mine at JC Penney. I hope this helps.

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

hi, well i have thick, notty naturally curly hair its hideous... well when i was really young it was gorgeous but now its just really notty and thick ..yuck!.. anyways, ive been wanting a hair style change and i mean a total change,,,ive always wanted short STRAIGHT hair but dont really wanna go thru the chemically straightening route and hair straighteners just damage my hair...at the moment my hair is straight-ish at the top all the way half way down my hair then it goes mad curly...its all notty thow...i was wondering as it is straightish at the top,,if i cut it short would it stay straight or just go back to a big bundle of natural curls !!!

jjust wondering as im planning to have it done and would like to know as soon as possible thanks=]

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

The shorter it is the curlier it will be. The weight of longer hair helps stretch out the curl

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

it's probably straight on top b/c it's being weighed down by your thick hair. if you cut it i bet it will be a bit wavy, but much easier to make straight by using a straightening creme and a blowdryer.

you're best off talking to a stylist about it. good luck!

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

its just gunna be a big bundle of curls if you cut it. i just cut my hair up to a little past my shoulders and i have to straighten it or else it looks retarted. You could get your hair thinned so its not so overwhelming and itlll be easier to straighten if you want.

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

This isn't really answering your question but i saw this kit in boots where you like apply a cream to your hair and leave it for like half an hour and then i straightens your hair permanantly for a month or so. you might want to try it

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

Your just like me!!!!!! :O!

Okay my hair was really long and curly/wavey i hated it (My ex said it looked good on me but w.e)

I had my hair layered and thinned out also cut to my shoulders.

Now i have straight hair yay (Even though i straighten it everyday)

Curly hair help!!!! please=]?

it depends on how long and thick. if you get it cut a couple of inches it will curl beautifully, too short it will be straight with a couple of curls popping in and out. i have really thick curly hair and i get it cut a couple of inches (2- 3 1/2)

I have curly hair but it always appear dry and hard. I used placenta hair repair this weekend, but m

still dry and dull looking. I wash my hair with Garner Frutose products, and I deep condition my hair with silk elements intense conditioning treatment. My hair is relaxed, but still curly. I don't like greasy hair products in my hair. What can I use in my hair to promote a healty shiny look without the greasy build up.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

I trim my hair every 6-8 weeks

My hair is color treated

I relax my hair with gentle treatment regular relaxer

I wash and wrap my hair twice a week

I don't use heat in my hair

I let my hair air dry and then I pull my hair back into a ponytail

I wear wigs when I go out to let my hair rest since I am growing it out

I have curly hair but it always appear dry and hard. I used placenta hair repair this weekend, but my hair is

1...THIS IS FOR THICK %26amp; THIN HAIR

heat up some olive oil (purer the better)

drench all of your hair especially the ends

wrap your hair with plastic wrap

put a towel around your neck

(those last two things is because it does get drippy)

leave in for an hour

wash out with shampoo and conditioner

this repairs, strengthens, makes it shiny, etc etc and soft as a baby's hair

I have gotten many ppl hooked on this,,,my friends are naming this 'hair crack' do this every other week or weekly up to you

2.. THIS IS FOR THIN HAIR ONLY

heat up coconut oil and do the same as above

it makes thinck hair tangly frizzing and too oily...

DO THE OLIVE OIL, YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL A HUGE DIFFERENCE YOU WIL HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER!

I have curly hair but it always appear dry and hard. I used placenta hair repair this weekend, but my hair is

I have hair just like you and have the same problems, from the dryness to hating having greasy hair. Here's three things I do, that seem to work.

1. You can just change up your shampoo once a month. I use Garner one month and Dove for dry and damage the next month. It kind of helps for some reason.

2. Try a egg/mayo/beer mix (beer optional)? It sounds gross to most, but it dose work very well. Leave in on 30mins or so, it'll help.

3. Play with your hair. Braid and upbraid it, run your hand through it, and brush it at less 3 times a day. For some reason it causes oils to be release.

Sorry that's all I can tell you, that doesn't have you adding a lot of heavy greases and stuff.
